AN exhibition, featuring artists Werner Filipich, Howard Ireland, Gary Laird, George Largent and Nada O'Loughlin opens at 6 pm tomorrow at Hillcrest Gallery in Cherrybrook shopping centre, Shepherds Drive. The exhibition, one of three held each year, will continue until Sunday, August 18.

Hillcrest Gallery has a reputation in the Hills District for its quality and variety of paintings and Australian handmade items including glass, timber, silver, ceramics, bronze and leather.

A new designer in the gallery is Don Sheil. His impressive flatware looks like silver or pewter and features Australian flora. It can be used for serving food and some pieces are ovenproof.

Gallery owner Jenny Leslie has an interest in Australian handblown glass and displays items from many parts of Australia. Glass artists include Colin Heaney, of Byron Bay, Setsuko Ogishi, from the Hunter Valley and Robert Wynne, of Sydney. Leadlight angels and figurines by Margaret Greenwood, of Lugarno, include limited-edition representations of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. For inquiries, phone 9484 6225.
