WARNERS Bay High boasts one of the best exchange programs in the Hunter.

The school has maintained strong ties with sister schools in Japan, Thailand, New Zealand and Germany.

There are yearly exchanges with Hillcrest High in New Zealand and Schafflund Gymnasium in Germany.

Warners Bay High was visited recently by students from Kikuka Girls High School in Japan.

`Our school in Japan is bigger than Warners Bay,' explained Haruka Matsumara, 16.

Another 16-year-old, Akiko Nakajima, added: `The students are very kind and nice. I really liked the koalas ? they were very cute.'
