Accused To Face Rape Trial
Illawarra Mercury
Tuesday July 28, 1998
A Narooma man who allegedly raped a Bomaderry woman in company with three other men was ordered to stand trial when he appeared at Nowra Local Court yesterday.
Gary Wayne Pender, 30, unemployed of Hillcrest Ave, entered no plea to a charge of sexual intercourse without consent.
In a paper committal the court was told the alleged victim left her home to walk to another house in Bomaderry on April 11 to borrow cigarettes. While there she began drinking.
The woman told police she refused to have sex with one of the men, but he removed her leggings and underpants before placing her on a bed and sexually assaulting her.
Anthony Keith Wellington, 37, unemployed of Roseby Park, Orient Point via Culburra and Steven John Walker, 37, unemployed of Catlin Ave, Batemans Bay already have been committed to stand trial.
